Currently, we have 23 firefighters on the roster; but we can always use more! At times we do not have enough man power to fight in the daytime.

The requirements to become a volunteer are as follows:

• Have State Certified training
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be in good health
• Be available to go on a call anytime; day or night
• Do whatever it takes to get the job completed

To apply for the Volunteer Fire Department, you may download and fill out an application here, or obtain an application from Idalou City Hall located at 301 Main. Donations to the department can also be sent to the same address.
